Vehicles of the Lannon Fire Department

Ambulance #2551

Lannon Ambulance #2551 The first dispatched ambulance for emergencies in the Lannon Fire Protection district is a 1988 Lifeline Emergency Vehicles body mounted on a Ford E-350 HD chassis. Generally staffed with 3 EMTs (Emergency Medical Technician), at least one of which is trained as an IV -Technician and a driver who may be a third EMT or a Firefighter. This vehicle is generally followed closely by Rescue #2576 which provides more manpower which may be needed for the situation.

Ambulance #2552

Lannon Ambulance #2552 The second dispatched ambulance is also on a 1988 Ford chassis, however this unit has a McCoy-Miller body on it. The staffing on this unit is the same, a minimum of 2 EMTs (one of which is an IV-tech), and a driver. This unit is used when an emergency requires more than 1 ambulance, such as when there are multiple patients being transported to different hospitals. It is also the dispatched unit when it will be used for a mutual aid emergency.

Engine #2561

Lannon Engine #2561 The front line fire engine used by the Lannon Fire Department has a Marion body mounted on a 1996 Spartan chassis. A Hale pump is installed on this engine which will flow in excess of 1000 gallons per minute. A 1000 gallon poly tank is utilized for an immediate water source. 1000 feet of 5 inch LDH (large diameter hose) allows us to connect to a fire hydrant or another engine almost a 1/4 mile away. If one of these sources is not available, a portable tank will be set up and the water will be retrieved via a drafting operation. The crew compliment consists of the motor-pump operator, an officer, and 4 firefighters

Engine #2562

Lannon Engine #2562 The second dispatched engine to an emergency again uses a Marion body, this time mounted on a 1988 Mack chassis. The main difference in this unit is a smaller crew size, consisting of only 3 firefighters. The pump and water capacities are the same. For technical rescue and for mutual aid emergencies, this is the first engine sent out.

Heavy Rescue #2576

Lannon Heavy Rescue #2576 Lannon 2576 is a Heavy Rescue truck dispatched to almost all incidents in the Lannon Fire Protection district. It is a 1982 Ford F-350HD chassis with a Marion Body Works box installed. The crew consists of a driver and 1 other member, who may or may not be an officer depending on the emergency. For medical emergencies, the unit is primarily tasked for staffing assistance. In an automobile accident, this unit carries all of the tools and extrication equipment that may be needed.

Grass Rig #2581

Lannon Engine #2581 Lannon 2581 is a P100 series GMC Suburban, which was built in the years of 1958 & 1959. It is equipped with 4 wheel drive, a PTO powered winch, a water tank holding 100 gallons, and a pump. It's primary use is to battle brush fires off of the road. A 2 man crew operates this vehicle, and there are additional supplies such as water packs and foam eductors on board to help extinguish the fires it encounters. This vehicle was acquired by the Lannon Fire Department in 1966 from the Civil Defense Administration, and has now been decommissioned. It will be sold in early 2007.
