Emergency Medical Services
The Lannon Fire Department operates 2 ambulances to provide Emergency
Medical Services inside the Village of Lannon and in the adjacent areas
of Menomonee Falls. All EMS calls will have an ambulance sent to the location as well as
another rescue vehicle. The second vehicle will be there to provide
additional help as needed for the emergency. The minimal staffing of
the Lannon Fire Department ambulances is a driver, an
EMT,
and an
EMT IV Technician.
Mutual Aid agreements with neighboring municipalities provide for additional ambulances and
staffing as needed for incidents. The Town of Lisbon Fire Department can also provide
emergency medical technicians trained to the higher level of EMT Intermediate.
Community Memorial Hospital
is the primary destination for most patients, as it is
within 10 minutes driving time of all locations that we cover; and,
the majority of the population lives within a 5 minute transport time.
We also will transport to other hospitals as requested by the patient
or based upon the specific medical needs. The other hospitals that
we transport regularly to are Elmbrook Hospital in Brookfield,
Waukesha Memorial Hospital, and Childrens' Hospital of Milwaukee.
Major trauma and sever burn incidents can also be transported via
Flight for Life,
which is the air ambulance serving the area. Froedtert Hospital in
Milwaukee is the regional trauma center, and Columbia/St Mary's
is the regional burn center
For pediatric emergencies, the Lannon Fire Department uses what is
called the 'Cindy Bag' which is an
Emergency Medical Services for Children
jump bag that contains a color coded measuring tape that tells the EMTs
which equipment and medications by matching the color codes. The Cindy
Bag was a gift to the Lannon Fire Department from the
